Fantasy Insights: DFS Stack for Wednesday Featuring White Sox at Blue Jays

With all teams active Wednesday — seven early games and eight late — there’s a lot to pick from, but consider a stack from the following game for your Early Only or All Day lineups.

Chicago White Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays 1:08 PM EST

This matchup currently has the highest over/under run total on the board, sitting at 9.5 runs as of this writing. Michael Kopech will start for the White Sox, and he has had a rough start to the season. In three of his four starts he’s lasted 5 innings or less, while surrendering a combined 15 earned runs in those three rocky starts. He’s the second-cheapest starting pitcher on FanDuel right now ($6500), which should tell you something. Consider this stack when building your roster:

*Bo Bichette ($3400 FD): 2-for-3, 1 BB, 0 K versus Kopech. Batting average sits at .324, he’s 12-for-33 (.364) at home this season.

*Matt Chapman ($3900 FD): 1-for-2, 1 BB, 1 K versus Kopech. Currently hitting .360, good for 3rd-best in the majors. He’s 7-for-24 (.292) at home this season.

*Whit Merrifield ($2800 FD): 2-for-12, 1 HR, 1 K versus Kopech. Batting .302, and while numbers versus Kopech aren’t great, he’s 7-for-19 (.368) over the last seven days, was riding a 10-game hit streak prior to Tuesday’s 0-for-3, and has been on base via hit or walk at least once in every game he’s played so far this season. When Kopech exits, Merrifield will face a bullpen he owns a .271 average against (outside of Tanner Banks who threw three innings Tuesday), and a bullpen that includes Reynaldo Lopez. Merrifield has squared off against Lopez 41 times in his career, collecting 13 hits (.317 average). Merrifield also gives you some roster flexibility due to his relatively cheap price.
