Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Game 7 Betting Preview

Series Recap and Pregame Analysis: Celtics vs. 76ers

It was Jayson Tatum who rose from arguably the worst three quarters of his NBA career to bounce back and win Game 6 for Boston. The series shifts back to TD Garden for the best two words in sports: Game 7. Tatum and company won a drag-it-out “bar fight” — as Kevin Garnett would say — as they dominated the fourth quarter. Who will step up in Game 7?

Jaylen Brown knows how much pressure is on the Celtics. He knows that the TD Garden faithful has been tough on him, so he wants the crowd to step up. He said the following: “The energy in the Garden has been, okay. At best. Game 7 if you there, or if you not there… I need you to be up, I need you to come with the energy because we gonna need every bit of it.”

Boston has been an up-and-down team, so we will see if the green team comes out with the same fire as in Game 6. Thursday’s contest was an interesting one, as the Celtics played just seven players. Philadelphia had seven players with double-digit minutes, but it was nine players in the rotation: Danuel House Jr. and Paul Reed also got some time on the court.

Al Horford, James Harden, De’Anthony Melton, Joel Embiid, and Tobias Harris were all shut out from 3-point land in Game 6. Boston shot 15-for-35 from 3-point while Philly made just 8 of 34 shots from downtown. We will see how the 3-point shooting differs in Game 7.

Throughout the 2023 NBA postseason — and the 2022 playoffs as well — the Celtics never made it easy on themselves. They went to two Game 7s in 2022, and here they are again in Game 7 at home in the Eastern Conference Semifinals on a Sunday in May. Boston took on Milwaukee without Khris Middleton, and Grant Williams made 10 of his 22 shots en route to a game-high 27 points. Boston won, 109-81, in front of a raucous home crowd.

It may not be as easy for the Celtics to win on Sunday this time around, but it will once again be with a similar roster, with the addition of Malcolm Brogdon. He was very important in Game 6, along with Marcus Smart. Who knows if Grant Williams will find his way on the court for this one? Who will be the hero this time around?
