Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs Week 1 Betting Card. Lines, totals, props, and parlays.

Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs Betting Card

Spread: Chiefs -6.5 (-115) Lions +6.5 (-105)

Total: Over 54.5 (-105) Under 54.5 (-115)

Moneyline: Chiefs (-250) Lions (+235)

In 2023 the Chiefs won seven games by at least seven points while the Detroit Lions only lost three games by more than six points. This projects as a high-scoring game between two shaky defenses. Lions +6.5 has the most value but going against Patrick Mahomes is something we don’t support doing.

Lean: Lions +6.5

The Lions averaged just 19 points per game on the road in 2022. Jared Goff is known to be a much better quarterback in home games. This is a high total that the Chiefs went over in just six games in 2022. A combined total is something that shouldn’t be touched due to the fact of the Lions’ shaky performances in toad games with Jared Goff.

Lean: Under 54.5

Game Props

Chiefs Total Points Over 30.5 (-120) Under 30.5 (-102)

The Chiefs went over this number just five times in 2022 but week 1 history is on their side.

The Chiefs are averaging 38 points per game in week 1 with Patrick Mahomes as their starting quarterback. The Detroit Lions are a bad defense who have struggled to rush the passer and lost their best cornerback to a trade in the off-season. Also, add in Andy Reid‘s ability to create a game plan with time to prepare, and this number is destined to go over.

Best Bet: Chiefs Total Points Over 30.5

Winning Margin (4-Way)

Fanduel Sportsbook has these cool prop bets where you can place a wager on how much a team wins by. The options are usually 1-13 and 14+ with really good odds. In 2022 the Detroit Lions only lost three games by 14 points or more and the Chiefs only won four games by 14 points or more, love the chances of this hitting.

Best Bet: Kansas City Chiefs by 1-13 pts (+130)

Player Props

Travis Kelce Receiving Yards Over 79.5 (-114) Under 79.5 (-114)

Travis Kelce has been the best tight end in the NFL for over a half-decade now, he is pretty much a wide receiver disguised as a tight end. He hit on this number in over 50% of games in 2022. Since Patrick Mahomes has started playing for the Chiefs he has hit on this number in 47% of his games. The Chiefs have unproven players at wide receiver like Sky Moore and Kadarious Toney so that just enhances Kelce’s chances of hitting this number in week 1.

Best Bet: Travis Kelce OVER 79.5 Receiving Yards

Jahmyr Gibbs Receiving Yards Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-114) Under 30.5 (-114)

The Detroit Lions drafted Gibbs number 12 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Gibbs is a popular breakout candidate in fantasy football this season. He is expected to take on the D’andre Swift role as the passing downs back but Gibbs projects as a much better version of that than Swift did. Taking a rookie player prop in his first-ever game is risky but in a high-scoring game where the Lions lack weapons, this is a good number to take. Gibbs could go over this on one catch.

Best Bet: Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 30.5 Receiving Yards

Primetime Parlay

Same-game parlays are fun bets to make but should be noted that they rarely ever hit. They are just fun bets to add, we will try to throw one in for every primetime game this season.

Final Odds: +474
