Teasers and parlays have become more popular with the enhancement of technology in the past few years. Teasers have a higher hit rate than parlays but both are fun bets to place while watching games. This piece is our favorite teaser and parlay plays for week 1.

NFL Week 1 Teasers and Parlays
AFC North Home Dog Teaser
Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5, Cleveland Browns +2.5 six-point teaser.
The Steelers and Browns both missed the playoffs in 2022, both are heavily improved and looking to get back into the postseason in 2023. The Browns have owned the Bengals as of late and with Joe Burrow being questionable for week 1 the Browns should keep this one close. The Steelers and 49ers have a point total of 40.5, with a total that low a blowout is very unlikely.
Best Bet: Browns, Steelers six point teaser. Browns +8.5, Steelers +8.5 (-134)
Ravens, Commanders, Vikings Teaser
The Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders, and Minnesota Vikings are all heavy home favorites in week 1. All three are playing new quarterbacks on new teams in 2023 including the Ravens playing rookie in CJ Stroud and the Commanders playing a currently unknown starter for the Arizona Cardinals. The Minnesota Vikings are expected to regress in 2023 but Baker Mayfield shouldn’t do much to worry you with this teaser.
Best Bet: Ravens, Commanders, Vikings seven point teaser. Ravens -3, Commanders 0, Vikings +1 (+120)
Totals Teaser
Rams vs Seahawks
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks, O/U 45.5. With Cooper Kupp uncertain for week 1 this game is looking like a slow low scoring NFC West game. These teams played twice last season and never went over the total.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots
Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots, O/U 45. The Eagles were one of the best offenses in the NFL in 2022. The New England Patriots? not so much. The Patriots do boast one of the best defenses in the NFL along with a Eagles defense that had 70 sacks in 2023. Even if the Eagles win in a blow out they become conservative in the second half of games.
Miami Dolphins vs Los Angeles Chargers
Miami Dolphins vs Los Angeles Chargers, O/U 50.5. We took the over earlier this week, still like that but teasing this over gives us insurance in case there is a low scoring game.
Best Bet: Rams/Seahawks, Eagles/Patriots, Dolphins/Chargers six point teaser. Rams/Seahawks UNDER 51.5, Eagles/Patriots UNDER 51, Dolphins/Chargers OVER 44.5, +140
Empire State of Mind Teaser
The New York Giants and New York Jets both play in primetime in Week 1 as home underdogs. The Giants lost two close games against the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. The Giants have lost 11 straight games against Dak Prescott but should be able to keep this one close. New York Jets’ history doesn’t matter since they’ve never had a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. The Jets do have a top-five defense that will keep this one close on 9/11 against the Buffalo Bills.
Best Bet: New York Giants and New York Jets five-point teaser. Jets +7.5, Giants +8.5 (-110)
Parlays
AFC West Moneyline Parlay
The Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos are all home favorites in week 1. The Chiefs and Broncos never lose at home early in the season. The Chargers have a brand new offense that is looking to light the world on fire.
Best Bet: Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers Moneyline +229
Big Favorites Moneyline
The Ravens, Commanders, and Jaguars are all favorites in week 1 against new quarterbacks. The Ravens and Jaguars will play rookie quarterbacks, while the Commanders will play a Cardinals team who is yet to announce their starting quarterback.
Best Bet: Ravens, Commanders, Jaguars Moneyline +132
Underdog Moneyline Parlay
The Packers, Steelers, and Browns are all underdogs in week 1. The Packers, the only road team in a matchup against a team that they have owned historically. The Steelers and Browns are short home underdogs. The Browns have owned the Bengals as of late and the Steelers are much improved in 2023.
Best Bet: Packers, Steelers, Browns money line +815
Long Shot Parlay
